Laurie D. Busbee
Principal Attorney and Studio Director
For more than 25 years, Laurie Busbee has helped people navigate life’s most important legal decisions. Today, she focuses her practice on estate planning and probate, helping individuals and families protect what matters most while bringing clarity and peace of mind to an often-overwhelming process.
Laurie believes that great estate planning is about much more than preparing legal documents. It begins with listening. Every family has a unique story, different priorities, and its own definition of legacy. By taking the time to understand each client’s goals and concerns, Laurie creates personalized estate plans that protect loved ones, preserve family harmony, and provide confidence for the future.
Just as importantly, Laurie is passionate about education. In an age when people turn to the internet for legal advice, she has seen far too many families make decisions based on incomplete, outdated, or simply incorrect information. She believes everyone deserves reliable guidance they can trust. Whether meeting with clients one-on-one or speaking to community groups and professional organizations, Laurie enjoys translating complex legal concepts into plain English, so people understand not only what their estate plan says, but why it matters.
Clients appreciate Laurie’s calm, approachable style and her commitment to making the estate planning process understandable rather than intimidating. She takes the time to listen, answer questions, and design personalized plans that reflect each client’s family, values, and goals.
Laurie brings more than three decades of legal experience to every client relationship. Before transitioning her practice to estate planning and probate, she represented clients in complex litigation and insurance coverage matters, experience that sharpened her ability to anticipate problems, analyze difficult issues, and develop practical solutions before conflicts arise.
Throughout her career, Laurie has earned the respect of both clients and fellow attorneys. She has been recognized as a Georgia Super Lawyer for each of the past 15 years and has been listed as one of Georgia’s Top Women Attorneys. She has also served in leadership roles with the Atlanta Bar Association and frequently speaks to attorneys, financial professionals, employers, and community organizations on estate planning and fiduciary topics.
Laurie earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton and her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law.
When she isn’t helping clients plan for the future, Laurie enjoys spending time with her family, playing Pickleball, traveling, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, and giving back to her community.
“My goal is simple: to help families avoid the heartache I’ve seen when planning is overlooked and to ensure every client understands their plan well enough to make confident decisions for themselves and the people they love.”
